Thanks Rich for your comments and feeback. I wanted to post this so that everyone could read (cause I don't know how many people actually bother to read the comments even if they should!!).
here is Rich's feedback on the note I found in the cab:

What an amazing thing to find... It's kind of nice to think that people are out there taking notice of things like that still...especially in a place like New York, rather than rushing around between work, getting their tall soy half cap skimmy flat lemon latte cappachino, yelling at taxi drivers and rushing to the next meeting or social event.

Seems odd that whoever wrote it would leave it in a cab. It almost seems like he/she could have written it and left it in a cab to enlighten the next passenger (which in turn has passed it onto her blog and enlightened me).
